Items & gear
Gear is found, not crafted: monsters, dungeon bosses, the Expedition, guild rewards and the Battle pass drop it. Then the artisans make it better.
The six slots
Your gladiator wears a Weapon, Helmet, Gloves, Shield, Armor and Boots. The Weapon and Gloves carry damage; the Helmet, Armor and Shield carry defense; Boots carry defense on heavy sets and damage on light ones. Pieces mix freely: there are no set bonuses, so wear whatever is strongest.
Rarities
Common Rare Epic Legendary Elite
Rarity comes with the set: higher-level sets are rarer. An item's rarity is fixed; it never changes.
Heavy and light sets
From level 20 every ten levels bring two sets: a heavy set at the tier's level and a light set five levels above it, so there is new gear every five levels. Heavy weapons, helmets, armor and shields hit or protect a little more but slow your attacks. Light weapons and gloves make you attack faster.
The item list
Each set has one piece per slot. Starter items have their own names; set items are named rarity + set + slot, for example "Rare Murmillo Guard Weapon" (hover or long-press an icon to see it).

Where drops come from
- The Hunt: monsters drop gear of your own level band, so a Hunt drop is always something you can wear. Low levels drop often; later drops get rarer but the stage-clearing win always drops one.
- The four Sanctums: sometimes a piece already attuned to the Sanctum's affinity.
- Expedition bosses, the Guild Expedition's Champion, Battle pass steps.
- The Forum: buy from other players for rubies.
+Levels and upgrades
An item goes from +0 to +10. Drops can already arrive at a +level; Faber the Smith raises it the rest of the way. Each +level adds to the item's damage or defense. The item's look changes as it climbs:
| +Level | Look |
|---|---|
| +1 to +4 | Forged: a walnut pill |
| +5 to +7 | Tempered: a steel pill and a faint beam of light |
| +8 to +9 | Honed: steel in gold with studs, a brighter beam and a glint |
| +10 | Masterwork: a gold pill in a laurel, beams and twinkles |
Your gladiator's blade shows it too: Honed and Masterwork weapons leave a brighter trail in the fight.
Affinity on gear
An item can carry one affinity (Fire, Ice, Shadow or Sun). On a Weapon or Gloves it reads "Dmg vs Fire" (more damage against that affinity); on a Helmet, Armor or Shield "Fire Resist" (less damage from it). From item level 30, drops can arrive with an affinity at +0%; most stay neutral. Morta the Soulbinder chooses or deepens it.
The Character page
The Character tab shows your gladiator on the paper doll in what he wears, with your POWER (tap it for the full combat sheet). From the Stage 0-3 clear it also holds:
- The backpack for items you keep. A "+" on an empty slot or a green arrow on an item means the backpack has something better; EQUIP BEST wears it all at once.
- The armory chest for storage (STORE).
- Builds: saved sets of gear to switch between.
- Bulk actions such as SELL ALL.
The ARTISANS button opens the artisans, and the FORUM button the player market, once they are open. Tap an Arena rival or a guildmate to see their profile card and gear (their enchantments stay secret).
